Peer Review Process

SLVJ has two sections; section A and B. The original research articles, short communications, clinical communications and review articles that are published in the section A are peer reviewed. Manuscripts are usually reviewed by two reviewers (double blind) or sometimes by three reviewers. Reviewers are assigned by the editorial committee. Reviewers are asked to refer the “authors’ guidelines” of the journal for assessment. Reviewers send their comments and recommendations in the reviewer’s report which has been sent to them along with the manuscripts. Reviewers are usually given one month to review an article. If they are unable to complete the process within the stipulated time, a 2 week extension is given.

News, updates and opinion articles published in Section B are not peer reviewed.
