Peer Review Process
SLVJ publishes original research articles, short communications, clinical communications and reviews that are peer reviewed. Submissions are accepted on the understanding that they have not been published elsewhere and that they are subject to editorial revision. Manuscripts are usually reviewed by two reviewers (double blind) or sometimes by three reviewers. Reviewers are assigned by the editorial committee. Reviewers are asked to refer the “author guidelines” of the journal for assessment. Reviewers send their comments and recommendations in the reviewer’s report which has been sent to them along with the manuscripts. Reviewers are usually given one month to review an article. If they are unable to complete the process within the stipulated time, a 2- week extension is given. The journal also publishes letters to the editor. These are not peer reviewed, but subject to review and approval by the Editorial Board.
